San Francisco’s grandest Easter morning tradition, begun in 1923, returns this year on Sunday, April 17 at 6:30AM. This year’s citywide celebration atop the City’s highest peak will mark the 99th anniversary of the event. Sponsored in cooperation with local church and community groups, the non-denominational program will include scripture readings by community leaders, a prayer for peace, an Easter message and music. You can park at the base of the hill and hike the one mile trail to the top, or take the #36 bus to the top and walk a short distance to the cross.

We were there in 2019, celebrating the risen Christ with worshipers from all over San Francisco.

Jeff Mammen of New Life Church, Robert Burns of Christian Counseling Center, Pastor Alex Cabansagan of Family Christian Fellowship, Rev. Seng Chin of Church of Christ, and San Francisco Fire Chief Joanne Hayes-White. The program also featured music by the Salvation Army Brass Ensemble and Lynne Miller of The House of Bagpipes. Rev.
